35 Letters from Vietnan

This book consists of 35 letters that I wrote to my aunt while I was serving in Vietnam from October of 1967 1968. The letters contain my thoughts as a young Marine and continued through the end of my tour where I was still young but far more experienced.the letters came to me when my aunt mailed them to me 33 years after Vietnam. One of her comments was she believed that I should have the letters published. My thoughts were that they were too personal to be published and would not be of any benefit to anyone. It is my opinion now that these letters might hold some insight into the young people that are in current times serving their country. It seems we all share a lot of commonalities, and I am hopeful that men and women who are serving at this time will draw some comfort from these letters. I'm also hopeful these letters will inspire others who will face difficulties after their tours to meet the challenge of readjusting.

Whiteblooms

When I looked up I saw a dead looking bush off to my left, withered, except for one white bloom. My thought was "as long as I can perceive that one white flower I'm still here, and I will do everything I can and fight as hard as I can to remain here to continue to see that white flower

Words and Feelings

Words and feelings is a collection of 41 poems that I have written beginning in 1974. I found that writing poetry was the quickest way to get to my feelings to help me understand why I felt the way I did. After serving with the Marines from October 1967 to October 1968 in Vietnam, I had a lot of feelings to try to understand. The 41 poems presented here are from a collection of over 200 titles I have written . My friends have encouraged me to publish all my poetry but I chose these 41 to share at this time.

Words and feelings is now available in paperback through create space.com and amazon.com

Silly Times was an idea for a monthly magazine that I had and completed in 1979. There were only two published magazines. The first in April and the second in May. The idea of magazines was rather grandiose on my part at the time since I had limited to no finances and seldom a place to call my own residence.
